August 28th - on this day in 2021, Astra launched Rocket 3 LV0006 for the United States Space Force's Space Test Program (STP). The mission called STP-27AD1 launched from Pacific Spaceport Complex in Kodiak, Alaska. One of the five main engines failed immediately after liftoff, resulting in a highly odd-looking mostly horizontal movement of the rocket, which soon got to a positive thrust-to-weight ratio and began its ascent. The mission was to fail, however, and was terminated almost 2.5 minutes
