With no RIAT, this year’s Virtual Air Tattoo gives the Air Cadets the chance to showcase their many other activities, of which learning to fly is just one. Inspirational RAF Air Cadet volunteer Sean Allerton started a fresh challenge today at RAF College Cranwell, Lincolnshire. His latest wheelchair ‘Push 500' event was supported by band The Proclaimers who famously sang ‘I’m gonna be (500 miles)’. Also joining in the event were Acting Commandant RAF College Cranwell - Group Captain Gordon Bettington, air cadets, members from the Officer and Aircrew Training Unit and station personnel - who tried pushing a mile or two in one of Sean's spare wheelch

Royal Air Force Air Cadets from Trent Wing Air Cadets gathered at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission plot in Scopwick Church Burial Ground last weekend to remember those Commonwealth air force personnel who died during the Second World War. This includes Pilot Officer John Gillespie Magee, who is buried in the plot, with his headstone bearing a line from his famous poem: “Oh I have slipped the surly bonds of earth...
