BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC) - We will finish out 2025 dry and chilly! If you plan to celebrate the new year, make sure you dress warm this evening. I recommend warm layers with gloves and a hat. Temperatures will drop into the 30s by the midnight hour.
Snow chances will diminish early on the first day of 2026, giving way to mostly sunny skies for the rest of the day. Temperatures on this first Thursday of the year will rise into the upper 30s and low 40s. Overnight, temperatures will remain chilly, hovering in the upper 20s and low 30s.
Looking ahead to the start of 2026, a gradual warming trend is expected. Highs will rebound into the 60s, with overnight lows returning to the 40s and 50s. This warmup will also bring a chance for a few rain showers and possibly some rumbles of thunder later in the week.
Winds should decrease late tonight allowing temperatures to drop back into the low to mid 20s by Wednesday morning.
